EMPLOYABILITY
EVALUATIONS
These evaluations examine an individual’s age, health, education,
work history, specialized skills, and related factors to create a
vocational profile. Based upon this profile, a transferable skills
analysis and labor market research is conducted to determine employability
and develop opinions regarding earning capacity or wage loss. Employability
evaluations are utilized by individuals seeking to change occupations,
as well as by the legal community when it is necessary to determine
an individual’s capacity for work following injury, illness,
or trauma where the issue of lost wages may arise. Similarly, the
question of work capacity may arise in cases of matrimonial dissolution
or wrongful termination, when the party enjoys good health but earning
potential is at issue. It is ORNetwork’s overriding philosophy
to provide accurate and objective information in formulating opinions
and reports that are defensible in legal settings.
EARNING CAPACITY ANALYSIS
Through the use of labor market research and the interpretation
of pertinent data, an opinion is formulated regarding an individual’s
earning capacity or wage loss. This research draws from a data base
that includes statistical data compiled by the U.S. Department of
Labor in conjunction with customized labor market research. A standard
vocational tool in this process is to survey employers to address
case specific vocational factors such as existence of jobs, selective
placement opportunities, job demands, and wages paid within a specified
geographical area. An earning capacity analysis is routinely utilized
in the career exploration process to assess the feasibility of various
career paths as well as within the legal setting where an individual's
specific earning capacity is at issue.
